JBlogEditor on SourceForge

JBlogeditor is a Blog Editor based on Eclipse RCP and its source has just been published on sourceforge. See the authors announcement for more details.
The next Version (0.7) will be released under EPL and i'm really looking forward to it. If it can be used as an eclipse 3.2 plugin and integrates nicely, i'm going to prefer it instead of bloggers webinterface.

more news

the good:
I'm finally back on a 'broadband' connection at home. For the last 2 years i've been stuck on 64kbit up/down. This monday i finally got an adsl connection with 384kbit down and 128kbit up. This might be another motivation for me to post a bit more.

the bad:
In my last post i said i'd have more time to spare. Seems i was wrong. I'm even more busy than i was before.

the ugly:
I ordered new workstation components a few weeks ago. But either the mobo or the cpu is broken, so i have to rma one, but how to find out the right one without replacement hardware to test it. *sigh*

the eclipseish:
Despite my bad luck with the other hardware, my new TFT (Samsung 204Ts 20" tft with 1600x1200 native) works like a charm and eclipse is just different. No more customize perspective fiddling, view closing, frequent maximize minimize... I don't know how i could live with a 17" crt before :).
So if you feel theres not enough space on your screen for eclipse, get a bigger one, its really worth it.

no news (are) good news

no news:
Well, i've been really busy the last weeks and as only very few people read this anyways it has stepped down on my priority list. Sorry.

good news:
But i see light at the end of the tunnel. Seems i'll have some free time just when callisto finally arrives. Expect some more posts soon :)

round 2

Welcome back to PlanetEclipse arena.
Round1 looked promising for sure, so i was expecting a lot more to happen. Unfortunatly Dennis and Alex decided to throw the towels and so there will be no round 2 at all.
What a pity :/

lets get ready to rumble!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome to PlanetEclipse Arena. Tonights main event is about to start and here are the contestants:
In the red corner, wearing dark sunglasses, Denis -the menace- Roy, undefeated webmaster of eclipse.org.
And in the blue corner, wearing a fish tie, Alex -the extortioner- Blewitt, runner-up for the Top-Ambassador award.
Tonight they face each other for the title 'know-it-all how eclipse should be mirrored'.

*ding* Round1:
Alex rushes out of his corner and hits a straight right into Denis face. But Denis counters with a powerful left hook to Alex body. This evolves to a good infight with hits on both sides.
*ding*
And thats the end of Round1. Both contestants had good hits and still both are standing confident in their corners. I'm looking forward to round 2.

a bug's life - revisited

Its been some time since i had a look at the number of 'resolved later' bugs in eclipse. On March 19th there were 3849 of them. Today its 3954.
According to these numbers about 6 'Resolved Later' bugs are added to the pile each day.
Anyone up for a bet how many it will be when Callisto will be released in late June?
I'll go for 4500.

busy

I've been quite busy lately, and so have been the eclipse committers.
eclipse 3.2M6 is there and it looks very promising.
I really like the improvements in the cleanup wizard, if only they could be applied automatically on save :)
